Switching and Valve Placement Measures

Overview

Lovion SWITCHBOARD provides a central overview of all power grid switching conditions as well as valve positions in pipeline networks. The solution is flexible, allowing users to plan switching and valve placement measures in advance as well as to spontaneously react to unplanned measures and outages. Lovion SWITCHBOARD also provides interactive filters and sorting functions including reports to search for specific measures and data. Once the switching or valve placement measures are completed, the data can be stored and archived and can also be evaluated in further detail.

Status Model

Each switching and valve placement measure in Lovion SWITCHBOARD has a status based on the standard Lovion status model used in other Lovion modules. The status is displayed in a text field as well as through a coloured symbol. The status is determined by an approval process, which can be monitored transparently.

Spatial Reference

All switching and valve placement measures in Lovion SWITCHBOARD are georefenced. By implementing a network analysis, users can determine the scope of each measure. This affected area is displayed using a coloured aerial geometry that corresponds to the status model. Furthermore, Lovion SWITCHBOARD can be combined with proficient SMART TAGS. These configurable SMART TAGS compliment SWITCHBOARD measures in the detailed map by adding labelling such as the name of the measure and execution times.

Simulations

When planning and executing switching or valve placement measures, the focus mainly lies on future events. With the help of the simulation function in Lovion SWITCHBOARD, it is possible to simulate these measures dynamically. This, for example, could be a to activate a circuit or to close a valve in a pipeline network. This simulated visualisation improves the planning process for individual switching and valve placement measures. Furthermore, simulation strategies can be directly integrated into switching and valve placement measures. It doesn’t get any more efficient!

Operational Conditions

Lovion SWITCHBOARD not only depicts on and off or open and closed operational conditions in grids and pipeline networks but can also illustrate other operational modes. Switching and Valve Conditions

Measures in Lovion SWITCHBOARD include switching and valve placements measures. These measure depict deviations from normal conditions, for example for switches, fuses and valves. When a switching or valve placement measure is carried out, the operational condition is modified. Their modified status is documented as well as the exact times of their alterations. This is done, for example to automatically determine affected customers for specific times when planned outages are carried out in Lovion OUTAGE.

Visualisation in Detailed Maps

Spannungsfreie Schaltkreise oder abgesperrte Netze können unter Umständen für einen längeren Zeitraum bestehen und sind somit nicht nur für den Netzbetrieb, sondern auch für die Planauskunft relevant. Um diese aus betrieblicher Sicht abnormalen Zustände im Planwerk darzustellen, lassen sich diese Bereiche als Themenlayer in Lovion VIEW dynamisch ein- und ausblenden. Mit dem Abschluss einer Maßnahme und der Herstellung des Normalbetriebszustandes werden diese Zustände automatisch zurückgenommen.

Affected Assets

Assets affected by a switching or valve placement measure, such as distribution boards, valves, cables and cable sections can automatically be identified in Lovion SWITHCBOARD. This is done to inform customers of planned outages. Interactive lists allow users to analyse this data flexibly.

Mobile Application

Lovion SWITCHBOARD is optimised to be flexibly used on mobile devices. The module provides central work management features as well as planning tools for switching measures and valve placement measures. Technicians can independently create and execute measures on their mobile devices and even plan SWITCHBOARD projects. Integrating SWITCHBOARD with Lovion’s work management modules Lovion WORK and DISPATCH is a standard procedure.

Outage Management Process

A company’s efficiency is immensely improved by integrating Lovion SWITCHBOARD into daily operations.
