Aging Model for Evaluations

Overview

The module Lovion RATING AGING supplements Lovion’s Asset Management by applying forecast models for the aging of assets. Furthermore, forecast results originating from Lovion RATING and Lovion LIFECYCLE are fully integrated into this solution and included in long-term simulations. These data sets are managed centrally and automatically flow into the evaluation strategy simulation.

Aging Models

Aging models in Lovion RATING AGING describe the aging behavior of asset groups over their operational life span. The solution provides well documented and standard aging models by Prof. Herz and Weibull which can be adapted to specific asset groups. This is done through a guided parameterization menu. In addition, overview diagrams provide users with a comprehensive summary of parameters used in these models.

Damage Functions

The module in Lovion RATING AGING used to calculate future rates of asset damage is based on historical damage data. If this damage data is not available, it is possible to derive loss functions from industry standards or scientific publications. These damage functions can be subdivided into three phases to provide a differentiated representation of damage dynamics. A separate function graph can be defined for each phase.

Evaluation Parameters

Lovion RATING AGING identifies important key figures related to asset aging and future damage rates in order to describe asset states. These metrics extend asset evaluations with predictive values that are automatically derived from aging models and damage functions. As a result, asset managers receive important information about future developments beyond current asset evaluations.

Prognostication Data in Evaluations

After the evaluation is completed, identified key figures from Lovion RATING AGING are stored as attributes in the asset database. This means that prognostication data is not only available to asset managers, but also to Lovion users who rely on this information for their work. For example, the data is used in the process modules Lovion PROJECT for planning and construction as well as in Lovion INVEST for budget planning. Grid and plant measures can be derived from this prognostication data.
