Lovion MONITOR

Managing Damages and Defects

Overview

Asset conditions are managed centrally in the module Lovion MONITOR. These conditions not only include information concerning damages and defects, but also switching and valve placement conditions as well as measurements. Furthermore, this information is directly linked to each corresponding asset and serves a foundation for other processes such as outage management, maintenance or decommissioning and commissioning assets. In addition, they also provide an important data source for asset evaluations in asset management.

Servicing / Maintenance

Damages and defects are usually identified during servicing and maintenance work. Technicians document these damages and defects in Lovion TASK or the Lovion TASK APP. During the documentation process it is also possible to add photos, sketches, measurement values or other information concerning asset conditions.

Follow-up Processes

After on-site technicians have documented damages and defects, they can be evaluated and filtered in the module Lovion MONITOR. Furthermore, they are displayed in lists and geographic maps. Similar to all other Lovion modules, their status determines further measures. For example, a user can decide whether an asset needs to be repaired immediately or at a later stage. It is also possible to carry out cyclical surveillances, for example when only tiny amounts of gas are detected.

Asset Management

The condition of an asset plays a major role in asset management. In fact, it is one of the largest contributing factors and is supplemented with other primary and secondary data to determine the maintenance strategy. In the process, usually the rate of damage is also assessed. This is done in the module Lovion RATING which sources damage and defect data from Lovion MONITOR.

Outage Management

Damages are documented during planned measures such as in general servicing and maintenance work as well as in unplanned measures, for example during outages. Even if an asset is damaged during an outage, it is documented in Lovion MONITOR and can also be processed using the same function.

Gas Pipeline Inspection

Two solutions are available for gas pipeline inspections in the Lovion system. As this process is usually carried out by service providers, an independent module called Lovion CONTROL is available. However, if customers prefer to carry out gas inspections using tasks in the module Lovion TASK, the advantage is that defects and damages are also documented in Lovion MONITOR.

Switching and Valve Placement Conditions

Assets which can be switched on or off or where a valve can be open or closed usually have a switching or valve placement state that stays that way during most of its lifetime. This is defined as their normal condition and is usually documented in GIS or in a Lovion ASSET data model. In Lovion SWITCHBOARD their switching or valve placement condition can be changed and is automatically documented in Lovion MONITOR. Furthermore, it also possible to simulate switiching and valve placement measures in a network analysis using Lovion ANALYZER.
