Integrating ERP Systems
Lovion ERP CONNECT is the technological link between Lovion and SAP. The solution offers preconfigured interfaces to the IS-U, PM, PS, MM and CATS modules in SAP. The following visualisation provides an overview of the system architecture of Lovion ERP CONNECT.
Lovion ERP CONNECT retrieves building blocks (BAPI) within SAP via remote function calls (RFC). The synchronisation takes relevant processing steps into account. Individual transactions can be bundled up into one larger retrieval call, for example to synchronise all data for a specific type of order, technical position, equipment or notification at once. Furthermore, it is also possible to create new SAP orders and notifications in conjunction with tasks using Lovion ERP CONNECT.
The so-called pull method is used to plan measures. Orders derived from SAPs maintenance planning are retrieved through Lovion WORK using specific filters in order to plan and dispatch tasks. These work preparations take into account all relevant sub-structures of orders as well as the order itself. Depending on the process or scenario, orders are executed in Lovion WORK and TASK using these specific structures.
The push method enables tasks, where the information is managed in SAP, to be directly transmitted to Lovion WORK. This method is used to manage unplanned tasks. Lovion ERP CONNECT automatically saves information whilst processing these tasks. As a result, SAP orders and notifications can be created directly through tasks in Lovion. When the status of orders and notifications changes, this data is immediately transmitted to SAP workflow events. Furthermore, it is also possible to create SAP orders through Lovion, for example repair orders or to assign a work package such as a cyclical hydrant maintenance task to a permanent SAP order.
A bidirectional data transmission between both systems includes the following data:
order type
the responsible working station
planning group
deadlines for execution
work instructions
defined process
available notifications.
CSV files can be transmitted between Lovion and ERP systems using Lovion ERP CSV CONNECT. This is done using a mapping table that assigns business objects between Lovion and the ERP system.
The Lovion ODATA CONNECT interface is used to connect different ERP systems with OData web services. OData is a REST-based and open-source web protocol by Microsoft Windows Standards and is used as a preferred SAP web service technology. SAP is the primary ERP system that is supported. For various modules such as PM, MM etc. standard ODATA web services transmit various data. Furthermore, it is possible to integrate other ERP or external systems. This is only possible if the OData web services have the same interface definition.
Data from connected ERP systems is saved in a standardised Lovion ERP MODELL and can be used as a data foundation for various processes in Lovion modules.
